Matri Bhavan Hospital plays a significant role in providing comprehensive healthcare services for the economically backward sections of the Society.

Other than being a specialty hospital with state-of-art medical facilities, to bring health care services to communities and people who are unable to utilize present services due to inaccessibility or socio-economic reasons, Matri Bhavan is also involved in several Community Welfare Activities providing health care to urban & rural mothers and children among the underprivileged families all over West Bengal with most modern facilities by a dedicated team of doctors, nurses & other supporting staffs covering different districts of West Bengal and urban slums of Kolkata.

Community Services Rendering

Various types of Outreach Medical Camps with free distribution of necessary medicines

1) General Medical Camps at regular Intervals – Medical check up, free distribution of medicines

2) School Health Camp : Medical check up, Health & Hygiene Education,

3) Mass Detection Camps : Early detection , proper treatment, counseling and follow up- Thalassemia among Adolescents- Communicable and Noncommunicable diseases among adolescents and senior citizens,

4) Cancer Care Camp for awareness, detection, prevention, control and treatment of Breast, Cervical & Oral cancer among women & and teaching of Self Breast Examination,

5) Daily home visit , discussing & picking up health problems ,identifying & referring high risk cases and follow up in our schedule and catchment areas,

6) Generating awareness & Continuous Education on :-

• Institutional Delivery, Danger sign of Pregnancy, Antenatal, Postnatal & newborn care , Immunisation, Family Planning and the Govt. Health scheme available for them,
• Malnutrition, Heath & Hygiene issues like cleanliness, Safe drinking water.
• Prevention & Control of Communicable and noncommunicable diseases including Dengue, Malaria , Typhoid and others which are prevalent in the locality.

7) Helping to meet the minimum basic socialneeds among slum dwellers by free distribution of Nutritious Food, Health Kits, Cloths, Blanket, Mosquitonet etc .

6) High risk & complicated cases are referred to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan Hospital and according to the necessity, investigations, treatment, operations, medicines and Institutional care are rendered to them.at free of cost.

Since 2021-2022, INFOSYS FOUNDATION is providing financial support for rendering the Community Welfare Activities.
