Welcome to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission MatriBhavan, an esteemed charitable hospital nestled in the heart of Kolkata, dedicated to the well-being of women and children regardless of their background. Founded in 1950 under the auspices of Ramakrishna Mission Belur, MatriBhavan began its noble journey with just 10 beds in the residence of Late Ramaprasad Roy. In November 1961, the management baton was gracefully passed to the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, the esteemed women's counterpart of the Ramakrishna Order. Since then, MatriBhavan has blossomed under the caring wings of the Mission's Governing Body, embodying the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, particularly the timeless axiom, "Service to Man is Service to God".

From its modest beginnings, MatriBhavan has evolved into a beacon of hope, now boasting a 100-bed charitable hospital. With 80 beds dedicated to Obstetrics, Gynecology, General Medicine, General Surgery, and Pediatrics, alongside 20 beds for Neonatal care, we cater to the healthcare needs of economically disadvantaged and middle-class mothers and children. Our mission extends beyond medical care; we strive to instill the concept of safe motherhood within underprivileged families, fostering holistic family well-being.

Celebrating milestones of service, MatriBhavan commemorated its Silver Jubilee in 1975 and its Golden Jubilee in 2000, marking decades of unwavering commitment to humanity. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, MatriBhavan has remained steadfast in its adherence to Swami Vivekananda's principle that "Work is Worship", viewing service to mankind as the purest form of devotion, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and nationality.
